SB 2678    RELATING TO INTOXICATING LIQUOR                TIA,WAM
        Adds to liquor commission's jurisdiction the control,
        supervision and regulation of alcohol abuse treatment
        and prevention programs to be financed from licensee
        fees as well as fines. (Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 2541    RELATING TO INTOXICATING LIQUORS               TIA,JDC
        Makes various changes to chapter 281, HRS, relating to
        intoxicating liquor. (Fukunaga)

SB 2615    RELATING TO ABANDONED MOTOR VEHICLES           TIA,WAM
        Increases from $2 to $5 for each certificate of
        registration of non-u-drive- vehicle, for highway
        beautification and to defray the costs of disposing of
        abandoned vehicles. (Mizuguchi(BR)) 

SB 2547    RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES                     TIA,WAM
        Establishes a fee rebate, or "feebate" program with
        respect to the purchase of new passenger vehicles in
        order to reduce energy consumption and lower air
        pollution, consisting of a revenue neutral fuel
        efficiency surcharge and credit program based on the
        federal fuel economy ratings of the new vehicle.

SB 2686    RELATING TO VEHICLES                           TIA,WAM
        Imposes a fine of $500 for failing to pay a vehicle
        tax. (Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 2531    RELATING TO TAXATION                           TIA,WAM

 
 
        Establishes a tax credit for the purchase of an
        electric vehicle and a tax deduction for the
        installation of an electric vehicle charging station.

SB 2137    RELATING TO TAX CREDITS                        TIA,WAM
        Provides an exemption to military personnel who do not
        file a joint return to qualify for the household and
        dependent care tax credit. (Sakamoto, Kawamoto,
        Fukunaga)


SB 2156    RELATING TO THE TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATIONS TAX   TIA,WAM
        Exempts certain foreign diplomatic and consular
        mission members from the transient accommodations tax.

SB 2100    RELATING TO PARKING STRUCTURES                 TIA,WAM
        Requires enclosure of and restricts noise levels
        within parking structures located near residentially-
        zoned areas. (Tam)

SB 2766    RELATING TO CONDOMINIUM PROPERTY REGIMES       TIA,GOH
        Clarifies that projects created as condominium
        property regimes under chapter 514A are subject to
        county zoning and other county building and
        development ordinances and rules.(Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 2760    RELATING TO LITIGATION INVOLVING HIGHWAYS      TIA,JDC
        Proposes to limit the State's and counties' liability
        in highway cases. (Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 2635    RELATING TO HIGHWAYS                           TIA,JDC
        Lowers highway vending from misdemeanor to petty
        misdemeanor and extends definition of crime to include
        risk of creating a hazardous condition or public
        nuisance. (Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 2950    RELATING TO HIGHWAYS                           TIA,WAM
        Limits agency liability for rapid removal of
        obstructions which block or interfere with traffic or
        endanger public safety on state highways. Authorizes
        towing and other minor assistance to stranded
        motorists on state highways. (Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 2951    RELATING TO TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS                  TIA,JDC
        Require Hawaii courts to accept police use of computer
        analysis of conventional and electronic photographs to
        measure distances and dimensions of physcial evidence
        at the scene of accident. (Mizuguchi(BR))

 
 
 
SB 2955    RELATING TO HIGHWAY SAFETY                     TIA,JDC
        Sets forth the authority of the DOT director to adopt
        administrative rules dealing with road use
        restrictions. (Mizuguchi(BR))

Persons wishing to testify should submit 30 copies of their
testimony to the committee clerk, Room 205, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
